An established, still underused talent market.

82%Higher ed. enrollment

Gross tertiary enrollment, up sharply since 2003 under the EU Bologna framework. UNESCO GEM Report 2025.

#43EF English proficiency

Why It Matters

Four factors working in your favor.

01

EU accession in progress

All 33 EU negotiating chapters opened as of November 2025, and Albania joined SEPA, the EU cross-border payments network, in November 2024. Professionals already work inside EU-grade financial and compliance frameworks.

02

A 6-hour time zone to U.S. Eastern

Closer than most of Eastern Europe. A client’s U.S. day starts with three to four hours of direct, real-time overlap with the Albania-based team, and Bota professionals work full U.S. business hours.

03

Enterprise validation

Deloitte, EY, PwC, Raiffeisen Bank, Teleperformance, DHL, and Vodafone all operate scaled teams in Albania, not pilot programs.

04

A multilingual workforce

60% of professionals speak English fluently; many also speak Italian, German, or French.

The Origin

Why Bota starts in Shkodër.

Bota’s founder, Lola Gazivoda, was born and raised in Shkodër. The firm began when her own son was preparing to build a team abroad and she pointed him toward Albanian talent instead, then helped him recruit it herself. What she saw in those candidates, discipline, education, and a genuine work ethic, became the reason Bota exists.
